Ewe Rams Legends Honoured in Stadium Development
The achievements of Derby County FC Women Club Ambassadors, Emily Jeffrey, and Lorna Abbey along with all-time leading scorer Cara Newton will be there for all to see at Ewe Rams home games for the 2022/23 season.
As part of the continued development of the clubs Don Amott Arena home and according to club CEO, Duncan Gibb, it was important that their achievements are recognised within the stadiums branding.
“Visitors to the stadium, whether it be to our games or those of Mickleover FC, can’t fail to recognise the strong Derby County branding that is in situ.
"Much of it pays homage to club personnel that have achieved great things at the club both on and off the pitch and as part of that it was important that the female arm of the club is represented. Lorna and Jeffo are ambassadors of our club for very good reason.
"Having played a key role in the rise to National League level, it could be some time before Cara’s goalscoring exploits are surpassed. As a club we are very much front foot and looking forwards, however we never forget the people that got us to where we are.”
