Ewe Rams Add Winger Camwell on Dual Registration

Derby County Women are delighted to have added Jess Camwell to their squad for the remainder of the 2021/22 season on a dual registration with FA Women’s Super League side Leicester City.

Camwell makes the move to the club looking to build her experience within the game and Ewe Rams Boss Sam Griffiths believes the exciting prospect has a bright future ahead of her.

Griffiths said “We are really pleased to be able to have Jess join us for the rest of the season and we are grateful to Leicester City for allowing her to join and aid our own targets.

“Jess has clearly been coached very well, she’s got a bright future ahead of her in the game, the Foxes clearly have her in their thoughts and by getting her some game time in a tough league, it can only boost her development.

“She will give us another great option in the final third of the pitch and we hope that she can give us a boost of our own over the remainder of the season and we are looking forward to seeing her in action.”

The young winger has already met up with her new teammates and is hoping to add her own spark to the Ewe Rams promotion campaign and can’t wait to get started this weekend when they face Loughborough Lightning.

Camwell said “i’m very excited to be working with Sam and the team for the rest of the season, i’ve met them all already and everyone’s been so welcoming and helpful for me so i’m just ready to get into action now and start showing everyone what i can do on the pitch to be honest.

“I think i can bring some new attacking energy to the squad by using my pace and skills to get at players and create goal scoring opportunities for us as a team. Hopefully, I can bring something to the team and help them push the final part of the season over the line. I’m gonna make sure i give everything i can to help the team get the results we deserve and the outcome we deserve at the end season.

“I hope that being at such a progressive club like Derby can not only help me improve as a player to get more involvement at a senior level but also i hope to help the team out to essentially get to the best level we can be at.”

Jess will go straight into the Ewe Rams squad for this weekend’s FA Women’s National League Clash with Loughborough Lightning and you can get your tickets via the below link.
