Derby County FC Women are delighted to announce the addition of Ranj Cooner and Resh Dorka to the clubs Operational Board of Directors.

Lifelong Derby County fan Cooner, has been a long-time admirer of the women’s arm of the club and brings with him a wealth of business experience. Having graduated from John Moore University, Liverpool with a BA Hons degree in Business Information Management, he joined a start-up telecoms company and during the next five years progressed to Associate Director.

In 2001 he was headhunted by Waldon Telecom where he took up the post of Director and Board Member. Ranjit has over 20 years of management and board experience, having managed several high-profile projects for blue chip companies in the UK and mainland Europe.

Qualified accountant Dorka has spent over 30 years working with large corporate businesses in the fashion industry, primarily in marketing, holding several senior positions at board level, including Marketing and Managing Director. He spent 12 years at Next and was part of the team that established and marketed the Next website. This was followed by seven years at Shop Direct where he was part of the team that created the brand before becoming Managing Director of Yours Clothing, an international lady’s fashion brand.

More recently lifelong Rams fan Dorka, has been involved in setting up several smaller local businesses including a new vegan cafe in Derby called Vedi, a holistic therapy shop Shanti and a management consultancy practice. He is also actively involved as a volunteer with the Princes Trust, working as a business coach and mentor.

Ewe Rams CEO Duncan Gibb is excited at the addition of both to the Operational Board. “I’ve known Ranj and Resh for several years and we’ve been tentatively discussing them joining the club in a formal capacity for some time. Both bring a wealth of invaluable experience to the table, the benefit of which is already being seen. Make no mistake, these are two fantastic additions to our club”

“The club is in the process of reviewing its structure at present to provide greater clarity around the roles of the Governance and Operational Boards and the personnel that sit on each. As such, their official titles are yet to be confirmed, however, Ranj will be our Commercial Lead working closely in conjunction with myself on that area of our delivery, whilst Resh will head up our Media and Marketing side of things on the back of Andy Moore standing down at the end of this month. He will work closely with the Derby University Football Journalism course as we look to develop our much heralded partnership with them next season.”
